Show Some Love at the 2019 CFC Kickoff on October 16th
The National Eye Institute (NEI) is leading the 2019 NIH Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The NIH CFC Kickoff will be held on Wed., October 16th from 11am – 1pm in front of Bldg. 1. Join NIH Leadership and special guests in support of the CFC and Show Some Love to your favorite CFC charity. There will be music, charities you can support, and great food for sale from some of the top DC-area food trucks. The CFC is one of the largest and most successful workplace fundraising drives in the world and NIH is excited to kick off its 2019 season of giving. This event will take place rain or shine under a tent. The official solicitation period runs from September 9th through January 12, 2020. NEI 5K: Show Some Love for the Combined Federal Campaign
The National Eye Institute (NEI) will host its annual 5K on Thursday, October 24th. This year’s event is a part of the Combined Federal Campaign. Festivities and a group warm-up kick off at 11:30am in front of Bldg. 1, followed by the start at noon. Get your vision screened and try out the NEI virtual reality eye disease simulator! Food will be available for purchase from Holy Crepes and Firehouse Subs. Registration for the 5K is now open. , go to . Important: The 5K course follows the campus perimeter. Participants will need their PIV cards to re-enter campus. This year’s NIH campaign theme is “Show Some Love.” With the help of the CFC, we have the chance to help those in need by reaching this year’s goal of $2 million. Trick-Or-Treat With the CFC
Stop by the Bldg. 31A Patio on Thursday, October 31st from 11am – 1pm for a hair-raisingly good time with food, prizes, and treats! Come in costume! Be scary, be silly, be unique but above all else be creative…especially if you want to win a prize! The “fangtastic” festivities will include trick-or-treating at the charity tables while learning how the organizations help people in our community and come out for a bite from local restaurant Dog Haus Biergarten and goodies from Cupcakes Lounge and The Caramel Kettle. Also visit Parti Pics Photo Booth and take pictures in costume or with props they provide.
