For 146 years Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has entertained, mesmerized and amazed children of all ages. Recently Feld Entertainment announced that the Circus would be ending in May 2017 but not until after it makes its way to Verizon Center in March.
Join the NIH R&W at 7pm on Thursday, March 30th, as we celebrate 20 years of bringing joy to people of all ages through the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus® with a show that is “Out of This World.” Prepare to blast off on an intergalactic adventure for space-age family fun as you are transported across the universe, blasting into the future with a thrilling new circus experience where gravity-defying trapeze artists soar through the sky, fearless daredevils perform brave feats, cosmic clowns trigger lots of laughs and incredible animals show off their intelligence and beauty.
Through the lens of a magic telescope capable of discovering the most spectacular circus stars in the galaxy, you and your family will join the Circus Space Fleet on a heroic mission of good versus of evil to bring performers back to Earth, traveling to interstellar worlds of sand, water, fire and ice. Witness amazing acts of skill that thrill as Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson and Paulo the Circus Starseeker attempt to defeat the Intergalactic Circus Queen, Queen Tatiana. Circus Astronauts, the Simet Spacewalkers, prepare for launch as they take a final stroll across the sky while showcasing balance and agility as they perform in zero gravity. The Space Patrol attempts to block the blast off but only succeeds in launching lots of laughter. In a dry, desert world of sand and dunes, Alexander Lacey and his majestic big cats show off their remarkable beauty and unique personalities. Trapeze artists twirl, tumble and somersault across the sky as a beautiful meteor shower. The King Charles Troupe dribble, spin, slam-dunk and perform sensational stunts on unicycles, showing off the finest and fastest ball skills in the galaxy. The fearless Torres family, riding on eight motorcycles at meteoric speeds, defying the universal laws of gravity as they orbit at warp velocity inside a formidable Vortex of Ice. Cutting thru the ice with daring precision, every moment is a thrill as Paulo’s Space Troopers leap, balance and soar across the sky. The Constellation of Cossacks perform incredible stunts atop horses traveling more than 25 miles per hour. Of course the circus wouldn’t be complete without the animals including dogs, goats, pigs, llamas and even a kangaroo showing off their talents.
